Concrete Bridge (Spring 2008)
In this project, we built a bridge out of an experimental, light-weight concrete mix containing styrofoam and bubble wrap, reinforced with thin wire mesh. The bridge has a double-T along the bottom for structural support, and the footings are much thicker than the body but hallow for lightness. During the test, our bridge held the weight of four people before cracking.
